Translations Matter - End Time Events
According to the KJV and NKJV, the AntiChrist Ruler will confirm a covenant for seven years, and 3.5 years in he will stop the daily sacrifices in the New Temple in Jerusalem and because of great abominations he shall make it desolate (judgment from God Almighty).
KJV - Daniel 9:27
And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
NKJV - Daniel 9:27
Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate.”
However, according to the NLT version, the AntiChrist Ruler will make a treaty for 7 years, and 3.5 years in, he will stop the daily sacrifices and offerings in the Third Temple in Jerusalem, and will set up a sacrilegious object (image of the Beast?) That causes desolation (judgment from God Almighty).
NLT - Daniel 9:27
The ruler will make a treaty with the people for a period of one set of seven, but after half this time, he will put an end to the sacrifices and offerings. And as a climax to all his terrible deeds, he will set up a sacrilegious object that causes desecration, until the fate decreed for this defiler is finally poured out on him.”

Regarding the same event, Jesus tells us in the KJV and NKJV versions, that the abomination of desolation will "stand in the Holy Place." This verbage of "stand" indicates to me that it is a person (the AntiChrist) who is the offense or offender.
KJV - Matthew 24:15
When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
NKJV - Matthew 24:15
“Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand),
However, once again the NLT version interjects that it will be a sacrilegious object that causes the abomination of desolation. However, in 2 Thessalonians 2, it seems that the abomination of desolation is caused by the AntiChrist calling himself God in the New Temple in Jerusalem?
NLT - Matthew 24:15
“The day is coming when you will see what Daniel the prophet spoke about—the sacrilegious object that causes desecration standing in the Holy Place.” (Reader, pay attention!)

The KJV, NKJV, and NLT all seem to agree that the AntiChrist will go into the temple of God and call himself God in Daniel's 70th week. This seems to be the Abomination of Desolation spoken of in Matthew 24 and Daniel 9:27. So one may wonder, where did the NLT version get the idea that it was a sacrilegious object?
KJV - 2 Thesalonians 2:3-4
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
NKJV - 2 Thesalonians 2:3-4
Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
NLT - 2 Thesalonians 2:3-4
Don’t be fooled by what they say. For that day will not come until there is a great rebellion against God and the man of lawlessness is revealed—the one who brings destruction. He will exalt himself and defy everything that people call god and every object of worship. He will even sit in the temple of God, claiming that he himself is God.

If we dig a little deeper, we can see that the word "abomination" that was used in Matthew 24:15, is from the Greek word G946 in the Strong's Concordance and is something that is destable or foul to God and is often associated with object idol worship.

βδέλυγμα, -τος, Ï„á½¹, (βδελύσσομαι), a biblical and ecclesiastical word; in the Sept. mostly for תּועֵבָ×”, also for שִׁקוּ×¥and שֶׁקֶ×¥, a foul thing (loathsome on account of its stench), a detestable thing; (Tertullian abominamentum); Luth. Greuel; [A. V. abomination];
a. universally: Luke 16:15.
b. in the O. T. often used of idols and things pertaining to idolatry, to be held in abomination by the Israelites; as 1 Kings 11:6 (1 Kings 11:5); 1 Kings 20:26 (1 Kings 21:26); 2 Kings 16:3; 2 Kings 21:2; 1 Esdr. 7:13; Wis. 12:23; Wis. 14:11; hence in the N. It seems the NLT version took it upon themselves to assume this word used for Abomination was in relation to a sacrilegious (idol) object. However, it seems this is most likely referring to the idolatry of worshipping the person of the AntiChrist. It is also a detestable thing that a man (the AntiChrist) would lie and call himself God, knowing that Jesus is God Almighty.
In Daniel 9:27, the word abomination was translated to "sacrilegious object" in the NLT version. However, just as in Matthew 24, the word used was from the Hebrew word H8261 used for an abomination and not always referring to an idol object/statue:

1 Kings 11:5 NLT - Solomon worshiped Ashtoreth, the goddess of the Sidonians, and Molech,fn the detestable god of the Ammonites.
In short, it seems as though some translations are more accurate and give a clearer picture in terms of the last days biblical events. It seems, the assumption of the Abomination of Desolation being a sacrilegious object, can be leading people into error and confusion when studying these related Bible passages. I have seen the KJV is one of the most accurate and trusted translations.
The Remnant of Israel - Daniel's 70th Week
An interesting note is that Revelation 12 tells us the Woman, a representation of Israel the nation, will flee into the wilderness for three and a half years. This is supported by the verses in Matthew 24 after the Abomination of Desolation, which is the final half of Daniel's 70th week:
Revelation 12:13-14 KJV - And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. [14] And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
* It is commonly understood that a "time" is one year, and "times" is two years, and a "half a time" is half a year. This makes three and half years the same as 42 months.
In the Book of Zechariah, after the Holy Spirit is poured out in Jerusalem in Daniel's 70th week (Zechariah 12), a remnant will be saved and purified (Zechariah 13). It is said that one third of Israel will be spared, and it seems that thus verse in Micah 5:2 speaks of the remnant being delivered at the return of Jesus the Messiah:
Micah 2:12-13 KJV - I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men. [13] The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the Lord on the head of them.
From a Christian source, it is proposed that Bozrah is a reference to Petra - the rock enclave in which the remnant of Israel will flee to (Matthew 24:15-21) after the Abomination of Desolation takes place in the Third Temple (2 Thessalonians 2). It seems they will wait there until Jesus returns to destroy the AntiChrist and False Prophet and break up the wolves surrounding Israel as shepherd with His rod (Revelation 19-20):
"Jesus is clearly teaching about the sheepcote and how the shepherd places himself in the only door opening to protect the sheep from the enemy. In Hebrew Bozrah means “the sheep of the fold” and describes the place the Jews will flee to in the days to come according the God’s Word. Today in wilderness of southern Jordan is a tock fortress surrounded by harsh rugged mountains called Petra, the Roman name for “The Rock.” The ancient Nabateans conquered the Edomites and created a treasure city with incredible temples and altars into the red rock to worship their pagan gods and goddesses. The only entrance into this great city hidden in the clefts of the rock is through a very narrow passage called the Siq, which is several long winding through a narrow passage with walls over 500 ft high….Petra is the perfect picture of a sheepcote!"
The Nearness of Daniel's 70th Week

1/20/2021 - According to Israel 365, a Jewish news website, various Rabbis in Israel are now predicting the fall of American Democracy will make way for the Messiah (AntiChrist) to establish a global Order under the Davidic Dynasty and the unbilical 7 Noahide Laws.
7/31/2020 - The Breaking Israel News website published another article about the Messiah soon appearing in Israel to save them. Yet, this seems to be another False Prophet Rabbi who is setting up Israel to recieve the AntiChrist figure of Daniel's 70th Week (Daniel 9:27). This is because they have rejected Yeshua Jesus as the true Messiah and are in part blinded until the fullness of the Gentiles (Romans 11).
7/17/ 2020 - As Israeli mobs protest against Netanyahu, and the Government seems to be falling apart, the pressure is on to either annex the West Bank or make another deal to divide God's Holy Land. At the same time, BreakingIsrealNews.com reports on Israeli Jews are looking to bake the Show-Bread for the Third Temple in which will be built in Daniel's 70th week under the false peace deal of the AntiChrist (Daniel 9:27). Time is O so short.
3/21/2020 - Israel’s Health Minister Yaakov Litzman is expecting the Messiah (AntiChrist) to appear in Jerusalem before Passover 2020 (April 7th), to save Israel as God saved the children of Egypt from the 10 plagues. This is setting the stage for the covenant with the AntiChrist (Daniel 9:27).
2/27/2020 - It seems for the first time in 2000 years, the Jews could sacrifice their Passover Lamb on the Temple Mount according to Trump's "Peace Deal" which seems will be confirmed or strengthened by the AntiChrist (Daniel 9:27). Daily animal sacrifices will begin again in Daniel's 70th week, and it seems it is moments away!
2/23/2020 - A well known Rabbi Lippo is calling for the building of the New Jewish Temple in Jerusalem as an offering to God to end the Coronavirus.
2/18/2020 - Breaking Israel News (.com) published an article regarding Mystic Rabbi Zissholtz, who explained that he had been charged hidden righteous men to break his silence and to begin informing the public of the imminent arrival of the Messiah (the AntiChrist).
2/11/2020 - Abbas and Olmert go outside the Trump and Netanyahu "Peace Deal of the Century" in order to usher in a Palistinian State. This is after Palistinians and Israelis are at large unhappy with the terms of the agreements. This is in line with a Prophecy Club prophetic word received by Stan's wife.
1/28/2020 - Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu publicly announced the Two State Solution at the US White house to establish a Two State Solution and give East Jerusalem over for a Palestinian State Capital, and double their land in the heart of Israel. According to Zechariah 12:3, America will be cut to pieces.
Both the Jews and the Palistians are against this proposed "Deal of the Century" peace plan and the United Nations seeks to help the discord. This is setting the stage for the AntiChrist (False Savior) to appear in Jerusalem and confirm or strengthen the "covenant" for one week (7 years) to begin Daniel's 70th Week. (Daniel 9:27).
12/4/2019 - Gil Hoffman, chief political correspondent and analyst for the Jerusalem Post, and Rabbi Stewart Weiss, a frequent columnist for the Jerusalem Post, proposes that the Messiah will return before the Third Israeli Election around March 2020.
The stage is being set for the AntiChrist to appear as a False Savior and confirm the Daniel 9:27 covenant or "peace deal" with Israel and other nations for Daniel's 70th week, the final 7 year period!
